Scope of the Official Prooftag System

Château Latour’s official page says the Prooftag system has been used from the 2007 vintage, providing traceability for all bottles and authentication for the Grand Vin. A code on each bottle neck can be entered on the official Château Latour identification page to obtain information about that bottle.

Check the Code, Then the Physical Bottle

1. Record the neck code and wine name; do not judge authenticity from label colour in a photograph.
2. Enter the code on the verified official page and compare the returned wine information with the bottle.
3. If the code cannot be read, the label is damaged or the information differs, preserve the discrepancy and cross-check provenance documents and the physical bottle.
