History and Status of Château Lafite Rothschild
Château Lafite Rothschild is located in Pauillac, Haut-Médoc, Bordeaux, France, and is one of the five First Growths of Bordeaux. Since the 17th century, Château Lafite Rothschild has continuously written myths about the wine industry, with its history dating back to 1234 AD.

Unique Terroir and Vineyards
Château Lafite Rothschild is located in the Médoc region of Bordeaux and boasts unique climatic and soil conditions. Out of the estate's vast 178 hectares, the vineyards cover 107 hectares, making it the largest estate among the classified growths. These top-tier vineyards are spread across three areas: the hills surrounding the main château building, the Carruades Plateau to the west of the château, and about 4.5 hectares of licensed land in the adjacent village of Saint-Estèphe. The common characteristic of these three areas is ample sunlight, with subsoils of Tertiary chalk mixed with weathered gravelly soil, providing excellent drainage conditions for viticulture.

Grape Varieties and Winemaking Techniques
The vineyard primarily cultivates premium Cabernet Sauvignon, accounting for 68% of the area, with the remainder comprising 28% Merlot, 3% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot, with an average vine age of 35 years. The winery does not use grapes from vines younger than 10 years for winemaking, and grapes used for the grand vin are all from vines over 45 years old. Some vines on the plot known as "La Gravière" are even over a hundred years old.
Only one bottle of wine is produced from every 2 to 3 vines, and the entire estate's annual production is controlled at 20,000 to 30,000 cases. All wine must be fermented in oak barrels for 18 to 25 days, with all barrels sourced from the estate's own cooperage. Aging takes place for 18 to 24 months, during which the wine is racked multiple times to separate the lees, ensuring perfect quality.
Legendary Vintages of Château Lafite Rothschild
The estate's recognized best vintages include: 1982, 1986, 1996, 1998, 2000, 2003, 2008, 2009, and 2010. Lafite from these vintages is highly sought after in the international market and commands extremely high collection and investment value.
