What is the specific price of Lipeng?

The wine quality of Le Pin is quite similar to that of Petrus, although not as "pure" and rich as Petrus, it presents both oak and fruit aromas. A gentle swirl of the glass immediately releases a layered fragrance. This wine is essentially a replica of Petrus, hence the extremely similar aromas between the two.

Although 6,000 bottles of Le Pin are released annually, only about 1,500 bottles circulate in the market. Three-quarters of the production is sold to the UK, with only a small quantity reaching the US, leading to deliberate speculation and soaring prices in the US. This situation is the least desirable phenomenon in the wine industry, so many famous wine classics either deliberately ignore or intentionally mock it, believing that all articles about Le Pin are either a waste of ink or an intentional whitewash to fuel speculation.

Mr. Parker once said: "If one wishes to indulge purely for fun or pleasure, there is probably no more suitable wine in the entire Pomerol appellation, or even the Bordeaux region, than Le Pin, but it should be consumed between its 10th and 20th year." Another famous wine scholar, Clive Coates, once tasted vintages of Le Pin from 1981-1985 year by year, and surprisingly found it still inferior to the proprietor's "old vineyard," Château Vieux Certan, in terms of depth and complexity. Yet, the price difference between the two could be as much as four times (in the 1994 US market, the 1990 vintage of Le Pin was priced at $279, Petrus at $450, Lafite at $88, and Vieux Certan at $53).

Nevertheless, many believe Le Pin "surpasses its master." The German professional wine bimonthly "Alles über Wein" reported in its sixth issue of 1995 an article titled "Le Pin Challenges Petrus." Ten renowned German tasters and a Singaporean wine collector provided 13 vintages (1979-1990 and 1992) of Le Pin and Petrus for a blind tasting. The result was that Le Pin surpassed Petrus in 9 vintages, including Le Pin's "maiden vintage" of 1979. Le Pin's "extraordinary" performance is undeniable! Finally, in early 1997, the American magazine "Wine Spectator" rated the 1994 vintages of Le Pin and Petrus 95 and 93 points respectively, with US market prices of $400 and $375 respectively.

Based on London's wine market prices in May 2006, a case of 1996 Petrus was priced at £3,910 (approximately RMB 54,000), while Le Pin was £3,563 (approximately RMB 50,000), ranking first and second among all Bordeaux wines. Lafite and Latour were £2,500, and Mouton was £1,086, far behind. At the same time, the 2002 vintages of Le Pin and Petrus were also released in the US (both rated 93 points), with prices of $700 and $600 respectively, making them comparable.

The question of how much Le Pin wine costs is actually of great concern to our domestic consumers. Due to the mentality of rarity leading to high value, we always hope to easily enjoy such excellent quality Le Pin wine. In fact, the market price of Le Pin wine, even for not very good vintages, can reach around 20,000, which should be considered a very expensive price as we have heard.
