La Tâche is a roughly six-hectare monopole wholly owned by Domaine de la Romanée-Conti (DRC), in Vosne-Romanée beside Romanée-Conti, and is made from Pinot Noir. While Romanée-Conti is traditionally described as more delicate, La Tâche is known for a fuller body, pronounced spice and mineral notes, and firm structure, making it one of DRC's more powerful red wines.
1972 La Tâche valuation considerations
1972 is an old vintage with limited surviving stock. The value of such a bottle depends heavily on the fill level, the ageing of the cork and label, and the availability of clear provenance.
More specifically, the valuation depends on the physical condition and provenance rather than the vintage alone. Clear photographs of the front and back labels, capsule and fill level, together with the original case and purchase records, support a more accurate valuation.
What Dibao Wine reviews when valuing La Tâche
- Bottle format and quantity: Large formats and complete cases often attract stronger market interest and may support a higher valuation.
- Storage conditions: Long-term temperature-controlled cellar storage with few moves supports a clearer assessment of the bottle's condition.
- Bottle condition: For older vintages, the fill level, any sunken cork, and the integrity of the capsule and label are especially important.
- Provenance and packaging: Invoices, the original wooden case (OWC) and cellar records strengthen the provenance file; a complete case is preferable where available.
For an initial valuation, provide the vintage, quantity and clear bottle photographs. Dibao Wine will review condition and current demand before discussing the valuation, payment and timing. Handover can take place at our shop or by collection across Hong Kong and Macau. WhatsApp / WeChat: 96737259.
