As a DRC Grand Cru, RSV lies between Romanée-Conti and Richebourg and is known for floral and red-fruit aromatics and a silky texture. It is among the more delicate wines in the DRC range.
Main factors in the valuation of Romanée-Saint-Vivant (RSV)
- Bottle condition: Check the fill level, whether the cork has sunk, and whether the capsule or label is damaged or mouldy.
- Bottle format: Magnums and other large formats are scarce and may attract an additional premium.
- Storage environment: Long-term professional, temperature-controlled cellaring with few moves provides a clearer basis for assessing the bottle.
- Provenance: Purchase invoices, the original wooden case, and cellar or merchant records provide useful provenance evidence.
2005 Romanée-Saint-Vivant (RSV) valuation considerations
For Romanée-Saint-Vivant (RSV), 2005 is widely recognised as a strong vintage, with depth, structure and long ageing potential. Bottles with clear provenance attract particular market interest.
Please note: bottle condition and provenance often affect the value more than the vintage alone; storage conditions, the number of moves, and the availability of invoices or the original case are all important.
For an initial valuation, provide the vintage, quantity and clear photographs of the front and back labels, capsule and fill level. Dibao Wine will review condition, provenance and current demand before confirming any offer after physical inspection. Handover can take place at our shop or by collection across Hong Kong and Macau.
