Points to check before offering Montrachet

• Bottle condition: Check the fill level, whether the cork has sunk, and whether the capsule or label is damaged or mouldy.
• Bottle format: Magnums and other large formats are scarce and may attract an additional premium.
• Storage conditions: Wine kept in a temperature-controlled cellar with few moves generally has a clearer condition history.
• Provenance and packaging: Invoices, the original wooden case (OWC) and cellar records strengthen the provenance file; a complete case is preferable where available.
